Home décor, for Ryan and Edith, is all about turning their space into a story. Their cosy flat is a mix of creative interiors, playful décor, and personalised touches - from travel treasures to bold prints, and of course, their two mischievous cats. It’s not about following rules, but about building a home that feels warm, colourful, and uniquely theirs—a reminder that the best interiors are the ones that truly reflect you.

“We’re Ryan and Edith - coffee lovers, wine enthusiasts, and proud parents of our two cats, Waffle and Churro. We first met 10 years ago at university and bonded over our love of music. These days, our favourite moments are spent at home with records spinning and drinks in hand, while our cats supervise. When we step out, we love wandering through art pop-ups, always on the lookout for a new trinket, ceramic, or art print to bring home.”
Edith: “As the more creative half, I’m usually dreaming up ideas for our home, snapping casual photos of daily life, or sneaking in the occasional lazy afternoon nap.”
Ryan: “I’m the designated cook and plant dad. When I’m not satisfying Edith’s pasta cravings, I’m on the hunt for craft beer or keeping our houseplant collection happy.”

E: “We didn’t really follow a specific blueprint for our space - we just wanted a home that felt like us. We were drawn to mid-century modern and eclectic interiors, and naturally gravitated towards earthy tones like terracotta, dark walnut, and olive green. Above all, it had to be a space where our growing collection of art prints and objects could live, and where we could really express ourselves.”
“The most memorable moment of making our house a home was definitely bringing Waffle and Churro into it. Watching them explore, training them to be gentle with our things, dodging zoomies, and holding our breath around fragile items was total chaos—but we wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

E: “When we were younger, we both lived in houses that were pretty cluttered, and home décor was not a priority in our parents’ generation. Getting our own place meant we could finally unleash our pent-up creativity and desire to create a nest and safe space of our own.”
“Our home is basically us in physical form—fun-loving, colourful, and with a little creative chaos. From bold prints and playful lamp silhouettes to the smallest details, like our choice of coffee cups and glassware, everything really feels like ‘us’. We’ve also filled our home with things we love and cherish, like our favourite wine bottles and objects collected from our travels.”

“Visitors often get a kick out of seeing all our little trinkets and figurines—especially our two Joan Cornellà pieces. The ‘I Hate Everyone’ and ‘Humans Are a Virus’ figures usually make people smile, or do a double-take.”
R:“One thing that always gets a laugh? Our art pieces—especially the cheeky ones. We recently added a toilet-themed art print that we picked up in Taipei for the common bathroom, and it never fails to make people smile when they see it.”

E: “If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the Yoshitomo Nara Little Wanderer snow globe. We hand-carried it back from a trip to Tainan and spent ages mulling over the purchase in a museum on a rainy day. I just couldn’t bring myself to leave it behind, and now it’s a treasured little piece in our home.”
R: “I’m especially attached to our lamp collection. I love our &Tradition Flowerpot wall lamp - how it fits perfectly with the terracotta tiles, and it cracks us up that our calendar somehow fits perfectly on its switch. And then there’s our Akari pendant lamp above our dining area, which we lugged across half of Japan, buying a new suitcase just to fit its 55 cm diameter. Lesson learned: always measure before you buy!”

E: “When decorating, we mainly look at how something fits into our space, how the colours work together, or sometimes how it can provide a pop of colour. Bonus points if there’s a unique story behind a piece, whether it’s a travel find, a quirky lamp, or a collectible. For us, it’s all about creating a home that feels cohesive, personal, and full of little touches that make it ours.”

R:“Our home’s still very much a work in progress, and that’s part of the fun. From bringing home our first houseplants, the White Wizard and Snowflake plant, to brewing our own coffee, to hunting for lamps abroad, every moment’s been a proper treat.”
“Home is our comfort zone - a place to truly be ourselves and surround ourselves with the things we love. It’s where the soft, warm cat cuddles are, where we unwind from the daily grind, and slow down from the fast pace of life in Singapore. It’s our sanctuary, where we can relax, share how our days went, and just enjoy being at home together.”
